- Visitors/patrons are welcome to do their genealogical/historical research at the Hamblen County Archives during business hours.
- For those who cannot visit the Archives in person, we offer only basic research services - staff and time constraints prevent us from accepting large open-ended projects.
- We do not charge for research, however, donations are greatly appreciated. The Archives is operated and maintained by volunteers and all financial support helps us to improve and expand resources.
- Research requests should be submitted by mail or e-mail. Phone requests are discouraged.
- Patrons should follow these guidelines when submitting research requests:
- Requests should be very specific in nature, providing as much detail and background information as possible.
- Include your full name and address on all research requests and correspondences.
- Requested copies can either be picked-up or mailed.
- Payment is due upon receipt. We accept cash, checks &/or money orders. (Please do not send cash through the mail.)
- Research requests are handled in the order received.
- Response times may vary from two to six weeks.
