- Photocopying is allowed for materials unless they are deemed too fragile or are subject to legal, contractual, or copyright restrictions.
- Copyright laws do not apply to Hamblen County's original documents, such as marriages, wills, and court documents. It does, however, apply to all printed materials.
- Photocopy requests will be denied if they are in violation of the U.S. Copyright Law. These guidelines are followed: -No more than 15% of a book or journal/periodical issue will be photocopied. (Entire books cannot be photocopied unless they are in the public domain; or, out-of-print and not available for purchase; or, the copyright owner has given his/her permission.) -Only single copies of an item are allowed by law. -No multiple copies of any one item. -Photocopies are not to be used for direct or indirect commercial advantage. -Photocopying is only allowed for the purposes of: private study, scholarship, and research.
- The extent and volume of walk-in requests for photocopies may be restricted by staff time and availability. In the event that request(s) cannot be fulfilled before close of business day, then every effort will be made to have request(s) filled by the close of the next business day for small requests and within five to seven business days for large requests.
- Requests will be accepted until fifteen (15) minutes before closing.
- We reserve the right to reduce or waive photocopying charges for staff, county officials, libraries, archives, and historical societies.
- Patrons are allowed to make their own copies when using the microfilm reader/printer. All other copying will be done by staff.

Original Document Copies (legal records such as marriages, wills, court cases) | $1.00 per page |
